Brian Forrester: New GBC CEO
Gymnastics BC is pleased to announce that senior sport executive, Brian Forrester has been named the association?s new CEO. Forrester assumes the position from Moira Gookstetter who is leaving Gymnastics BC for the Vice-President?s role with the new BC Sport Agency.
Forrester joins Gymnastics BC after successful four-years as the Executive Director of the Disabled Skiers Association of BC.? Prior to this he was with Volleyball BC and Rainmaker Professional Services in Calgary.
In his role as CEO, Forrester will provide overall leadership and direction for the growth and stability of the association. He will work closely with the Board of Directors, staff, membership and the various external partners in order to ensure that gymnastics in BC continues its ongoing growth and success.
?Gymnastics BC is thrilled to welcome Brian to our team,? said Twyla Ryan, president of Gymnastics BC. ?Brian brings a passion for the continued development and improvement of amateur sport in BC.?
Forrester graduated from Langara College?s Recreation Facilities Management program. He has extensive experience in financial management, human resource management, grant writing and sponsorship relations.
Brian will join Gymnastics BC full-time on April 9, 2012, although he will begin orientation and introductions throughout March. Our outgoing CEO, Moira Gookstetter, will continue to oversee the critical aspects of the organization and assist with Brian?s initiation throughout March.
